September 18 is the International Observe the Moon Night, we will be focussing on (you guessed it) the Moon. We will be offering views of craters, rilles, maria (seas) and other lunar objects in greater detail than normal.

A regular monthly meeting of the Chesmont Astronomical Society (CAS) will be held on Sunday, September 26th in the Community Room at National Penn Bank, located on Rt. 23 about 1/4 mile west of the intersection of Rts. 23 and 100. The meeting will begin at 7:00 pm and end at approximately 9:00 pm and will be open and free to the public. Anyone wishing to assist in setting up for the meeting and/or socializing prior to the meeting is welcome to arrive by 6:30 pm. Refreshments will be available.

Watch a sunset become a star-laced sky, view planets, star clusters and galaxies using our members’ telescopes and live view star cameras. There will be activities to thrill and challenge all ages, so don’t miss out!
